Young Entrepreneurs of Color Pitch Competition

The inaugural Young Entrepreneurs of Color Pitch Competition is designed to provide encouragement, financial investment, and mentorship that will support African American and Latinx high school students in building sustainable, scalable businesses. 

Entrepreneurs must be entering grades 10-12 or graduating this year. Entrepreneurs will attend six virtual master classes every Wednesday from 3:30 to 5:00 PM, July 7 through August 11, to learn how to create and execute scalable business concepts in a variety of industries. 

In September, entrepreneurs will compete to win scholarships and seed money for their business concepts.

The Ronnie Brooks Memorial Scholarship Deadline has been extended to May 14th.

Application Requirements: 
Applicant is currently a Lloyd Memorial High School Senior with plans to attend college in the Fall of 2021
Applicant has plans for a career in education or public service (***you do not need to be going into these areas)
Applicant has maintained a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Applicant demonstrates commitment to making the world a better place through education or public service

Essay Question: “How has your education contributed to who you are today, and how do you plan to use your higher education to help create a better world?” Potential questions you may also cover in your essay:
From a financial standpoint, what impact would this scholarship have on your education?
What life experiences have contributed to your goals?

Directions to Apply:
Your essay should be no more than 1-2 pages (typed, 12 point font).
Your essay should be submitted with 1 letter of recommendation from someone who has worked with you in an academic or professional setting. 
Your school counselor should send verification of your grade point average.

Currently no Lloyd students have applied for this scholarship.  The deadline has been extended to Thursday, May 6th.

Anthony Munoz $20,000 Scholarship Fund Scholarship

SCHOLARSHIP FUND INFORMATION:
Application Process 
Students must apply for the Scholarship Fund
Eligibility Requirements 
Any high school senior attending a high school within AMF’s Area of Impact
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 OR a minimum composite ACT score of 18
Students must have freshman standing by the fall of 2021 to an Eligible Tri-State College/University
Students must demonstrate a desire and intent to overcome adversity, financial need, high academic standing and a leadership role in the community
What Happens After Applications Close? 
If chosen, students will be required to interview with member(s) of the Anthony Muñoz Foundation Scholarship Fund selection committee
Finalists will be announced at the end of May and will attend the award ceremony at our Hall of Fame Dinner in June

Offered to a full-time student actively pursuing a code-related degree at an accredited institution of higher learning.
Scholarship Criteria: 
1. Entering his/her freshman, sophomore, junior, or senior year, and in good standing.
2. Be a current resident living in one of the following counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky at the time of application:  Campbell, Kenton, Boone, Grant, Mason, Bracken, Pendleton, Owen, Carroll, or Gallatin.
3. Enrolled or enrolling full-time in an accredited institute of higher learning in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and in good standing with most recent school.
4. Working toward a bachelor’s or associate or advanced degree in a code related field of study such as, but not limited to:  Architecture, Engineering, Construction Technology, or Fire Science.
5. The intent of this award is to promote code related studies; the applicant does not have to be related to a person employed in the code enforcement field, but relatives should not be excluded.
