Yoga Explorers Kids Series for Ages 4-8

Wednesdays, 4-4:30pm

April 7, 14, 21 and 28

Yoga offers healing benefits to kids too! By allowing children a safe place to breath and move they can learn ways to heal trauma within the body, relaxation and resiliency as well. While a children’s class often looks different from an adults class, the same ideas of wellness can be applied in ways they can grasp. This short 30 minute class built for ages 4-8 will use stories, yoga poses, meditation and games to go on adventures. We’ll travel through the jungle, ocean and more! It’ll truly be an exploration of the body and mind!

Exploring Codependency with Kaitlyn

6 Week Class

Wednesdays from 7pm-8pm

April 7, 14, 21, 28, May 5 &12

Do you find yourself thinking: “If he/she changed, everything would be all right.” Or “I feel so empty and lost, who am I?” If so, codependency may be at the root. Growing up in unhealthy environments and in an unhealthy society produces adverse trauma responses in our minds and bodies.  We learn that our wants and needs are below others and that boundaries are selfish, keeping our nervous system in hyperdrive, making us feel unworthy which makes it difficult to heal. Join us as we explore how codependency may be impacting our lives and the steps we can take to recover from trauma. This class will include meditation and journaling.

6 masked, properly socially-distanced, safe kids.

Laughter is good for the soul!

This familiar saying holds more truth than we often give it credit. You might think that laughter and trauma are an odd combination. Trauma can change our brain chemistry, the way we view ourselves, and interact with the world. This can increase both mental and physical health struggles. How is laughter going to help all of that? Research has shown that laughter has many health benefits including stress reduction, increased immunity, pain reduction, increased resilience, and improved moods. Humor offers the ability to look at things from an alternate perspective and adds a sense of control in regulating emotions. Through the humor and laughter of improvisation, kids will learn how to be mindful of the moment, listen, work cooperatively, be flexible, accept mistakes, and to trust themselves and others.

Workshop: How Trauma Affects Body & Mind and How We Can Heal

Hope and Knowledge for Victims of Trauma with Kami Lerma

Tuesday, April 13, 2021, 6 – 7:30pm

It can be difficult to understand how trauma can cause physical illness, sleeplessness, changes in your ability to recall facts and figures and any number of other symptoms that can occur, but the correlation is real. Fortunately, knowledge is power. When you understand the effects that trauma can cause in your physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual bodies, you can use that knowledge to focus on healing all parts of you — body, mind, and soul.

In this introductory workshop we will discuss the ways that trauma may be affecting your body, your thoughts, your emotions, and your overall sense of well-being. You will learn about the importance of healing these parts of yourself, and you will be introduced to real, actionable, effective ways that can support yourself on your healing journey.

The Enneagram is an amazing tool for self- awareness, self-growth, insights & healing. If you have had trauma in your life, relationships can be difficult & we tend to think “it must be my fault”. The Enneagram’s 9 Personality Types helps us see how people are just being who they are. It’s about them – no need to take it personally. The Enneagram gives us skills to understand how to work with our fears & old patterns. It helps us see why we get triggered & how to work through that. In this series of classes we will sink more deeply into how the types interact & relate. You will gain: More Peace from learning about your own type — More Love from learning about your partner’s type – More Understanding from learning about your co-workers & family’s types.

Soothing the Body/Mind/Spirit with Frankincense Essential Oil

Thursday, April 15 7-8 p.m.

Traumatic events have many effects on the body, mind and spirit. Often, a holistic approach using a variety of modalities promotes the greatest healing. Healing from trauma happens in layers. As our minds heal, deeper layers are allowed to come to the surface. Until then, we are sometimes unaware of how the trauma has affected us on a conscious level. Gentle, non-invasive techniques encourage our body/mind/spirit to strengthen and heal each step of the way. Certified pure tested grade (CPTG) essential oils can be highly effective in calming the mind, body and spirit in a safe, cost-effective way. One of the most effective essential oils for this is Frankincense. Each participant will receive a sample of Frankincense oil so they can experience the effects for themselves.
